Monday, May 30

Maytee: Tell us a bit about yourself!

Volker: I was born in Hamburg, a picturesque city in north Germany. My father was a professional photographer and this is where it all started. The combination of deep imbedded visual images from my journeys and the art of photography guided by my dad paved a path for a strong passion.Traveling throughout Europe, Africa, South America and the US, I have built a reputation for understanding the essentials of each culture and know how to espress these in my photography.

Maytee: How did you get introduced to photography?

Volker: My dad was a photographer I guess that’s where I developed the passion. My mom also took pictures with an old Roleiflex and so did I from very early on.

Maytee: What advice do you have for aspiring fashion photographers?

Volker: Passion, determination, …a look for beauty, style. First and foremost you shoot for yourself…not for other people. Don’t try to please other people or think they would like my pictures more if I do this or that. …the pictures are you and that is why magazines and clients hire you …because they like your style.

Maytee: What has been your most memorable photo shoot, and why?

Volker: I would have to say Bacardi. I was shooting for three weeks in the Seychelles. An group of Islands in the Indian Ocean. It can't get much better then that. Every morning we had to ride bicycles from the hotel to the beach and for catering the locals would go out catch fresh fish and grill it for lunch.

Maytee: Where can people contact/see your work?

Volker: http://www.vvisible.com
