Maytee: Give us some background info as to who you are?
College: Hey world my name is Cameron James I go by artist name “College”. I am a 21 year young Pop/Rock/Rap artist currently residing in Jax/Palm Beach, Florida. Originally from Southern California.
Maytee: If you can change one thing about the music industry what would it be?
College: The politics! The music industry is a great career to be in but keep in mind it’s not as easy as what’s portrayed. I wish that more people were given chances to make great music and be recognized for it. The industry, like any other, makes it hard to get your voice heard when you are an upcoming artist. That is definitely something I would change if God grants me the ability. Too much young talent in this world.
Maytee: What advice do you have for aspiring Artists just starting out, something you wish someone would’ve told you?
College: Have tough skin. You have to be confident but not cocky. People are always going to criticize your work and it may be something you don’t want to hear, but take it for what it is and don’t stop there. Keep God first and focus on your craft. Remember no one will invest or believe in your project unless you do.
Maytee: What do you hope to accomplish throughout your career?
College: I want to show the world what College really means. Not just in the music, I want it to be an experience for my fans. Everything is well thought out and planned.
