Maytee: What, is any, message you are trying to send to everyone who looks or wears your clothing?
Lila: The only message I can try to portray in my designs is that fashion, a statement of your individuality. It is an expression of who you are, how you feel, how confident you are and I think that is so important with anything you decide to dress yourself in.
Maytee: Where did you draw inspiration from for your new collection?
Lila: My inspiration for every collection has always been based on my moods, feelings and people I interact with. My current inspiration comes from a pure place of love and happiness. I fell so good right now and wanted a collection that was bright, funky and full of life. Lots of colors, pizazz and upbeat personality.
Maytee: Do you consider general fashion trends before designing a new collection?
Lila: No not for the most part. Its swimwear so I don’t always have to follow the trends although I do sometimes use certain colors or prints that are current in the fashion world.
Maytee: Tell us about your experience at this year's "Bet Rip The Runway"?
Lila: I love working with the BET family. its always a good time and you get to work with great talent. We had a blast and loved how the segment came out. I worked with lots of models I work with on a regular basis and we had a great song to compliment the garments.
