Maytee: What is some of your recent work?
James: My most recent work is the album revelation out June 21st 2011 before that, I shot the Akademiks campaign for Europe and the U.S.
Maytee: When did you make the transition from model to singer?
James: I made the transition about a year ago; I’ve always been a writer. Music is my first love and I love music, it calms me down, it keeps me focused, it cheers me up all positive.
Maytee: You have been in numerous print works such as Sean John, Akademiks and many others but which has been your most memorable one?
James: I would have to say Sean John. Ahh man I remember a few years back, I was strolling thru Macys and seeing huge posters and the billboards of models and I just visioned myself on them. I said to myself, wow I could be on there and I set my heart to being a model and I targeted and went for it full force and I’ve landed many magazines editorials, TV shows, music videos and then one day I got the call that James R. was wanted to be one of the faces of the future for Sean John campaign. Then there I was on my way to Los Angeles to shoot the campaign. The feeling was amazing, a very unforgettable feeling!
Maytee What is any advice you would like to tell those following in your footsteps?
James: Those following in my footsteps I want to tell them anything you set your mind to you can do it. There’s nothing impossible, think outside the box if everyone is thinking the same go against the grain effort has to be big and in order to achieve you must believe and sacrifice.
